Effect of Transformer Leakage Inductance on the Three Phase Capacitive Input Rectifier

چکیده
The characteristics of three phase capacitive input rectifiers which include the effects of transformer leakage inductance have been generated by computer analysis and reduced to a set of design curves. The inclusion of sufficient inductance leads to a three phase commutation mode which in general cannot be accounted ror by a superposition of single phase design curves • The results presented fill a long standing gap in the literature with respect to a practical set of data on the desigo of three phase rectifiers with capacitive input filters.

A Zero-Voltage Switching Two-Inductor Boost Converter With an Auxiliary Transformer
The two-inductor boost converter with an auxiliary transformer has been previously proposed for the applications where a large difference between the input and the output voltages is required. In the isolated version of the converter implementation, however, the leakage inductance of the high frequency isolation transformer presents an adverse effect and will cause significant voltage ringing o...
متن کاملSelf-Driven Synchronous Rectification Scheme for Wide Range Application of DC/DC Converters with Symmetrically Driven Transformers
Synchronous rectifiers are widely used in low voltage and high current DC/DC converters to reduce conduction power loss. For popular and reliable topologies, such as Half-bridge, Push-pull and Phase-shifted Full-bridge, the application of self-driven synchronous rectification has design challenges due to the existence of dead times. Existing solutions are not suitable for wide input voltage ran...

The paper documents a new transformer model in ATPDraw called XFMR. This model handles 3-phase transformers with two or three windings. Autotransformers and all Wye and Delta couplings are supported. The model includes an inverse inductance matrix for the leakage description, optional frequency dependent winding resistance, capacitive coupling, and a topologically correct core model (3and 5-leg...
متن کاملDiscrimination of Inrush from Fault Currents in Power Transformers Based on Equivalent Instantaneous Inductance Technique Coupled with Finite Element Method
The phenomenon of magnetizing inrush is a transient condition, which occurs primarily when a transformer is energized. The magnitude of inrush current may be as high as ten times or more times of transformer rated current that causes malfunction of protection system. So, for safe running of a transformer, it is necessary to distinguish inrush current from fault currents. In this paper, an equiv...

In this paper an asymmetrical duty cycle control strategy was proposed to the TPTL dc/dc converter. The modified converter remains all the advantages of original control strategy; meanwhile, soft-switching can be achieved using the energy stored in output filter inductance and leakage inductances of transformers (or resonant inductances).Three-phase three-level (TPTL) dc/dc converter has the ad...
